Calorie Glance
See calories eaten · burned · left on your Garmin watch, from the food app you already use. Free, no subscription, no new diary.
You log food as usual. Your food app writes it to Apple Health. A small iPhone shortcut sends today's total to your watch code. The watch adds what it burned and shows what's left of your goal.
1. Put it on your watch
Install Calorie Glance from the Garmin Connect IQ Store (link coming here when the listing is live). Open it on the watch: it shows a 6-letter code. Set your daily goal in the Connect IQ app → Calorie Glance → Settings.
2. Let your food app write to Apple Health
Turn on Apple Health sharing for nutrition in your food app (MyFitnessPal, Cronometer, Lose It, MacroFactor, Yazio — any app that writes Dietary Energy to Health works).
3. Add the iPhone shortcut
- Add the shortcut — it asks for the code from your watch. Allow it to read Dietary Energy when asked.
- In the Shortcuts app open Automation → + → App → choose your food app → tick Is Closed → Run Immediately → pick Calorie Glance.
- Log something and close the food app. Your watch updates within about 10 minutes (open the widget to update at once).
The shortcut runs when you close your food app, while your phone is unlocked — that's when Apple lets apps read Health data. It sends one number: today's calories.
Build the shortcut by hand instead (5 steps)
- Shortcuts → + → name it Calorie Glance.
- Add Find Health Samples: Type is Dietary Energy, Start Date is Today.
- Add Calculate Statistics: Sum of Health Samples.
- Add Get Contents of URL:
https://calorie-glance.b2b-dj-server.workers.dev/v1/t/YOURCODE(your watch code instead of YOURCODE), Method POST, Request Body JSON, add fieldkcal= Statistics. - Create the automation from step 3 above.

An Android helper (Health Connect) is next. Counted, thank you.
Privacy
No account, no name, no email. We keep only your watch code and today's calorie total (and protein/carbs/fat if you send them), overwritten each time. Codes not updated for 30 days are deleted. The page counts anonymous clicks, nothing else.
Calorie Glance only shows your own numbers. It is not medical or diet advice.
